Ground Forces



Since     August, Iraq has reinforced its limited 

forces near the Iraqi-Turkish-Syrian border



The new units are deployed in an area

approximately 13 km south of the Turkish

border and 26 km east of the Syrian border.

Additionally, a chemical decontamination

site-the first    in northern Iraq-has been

constructed in the area. There were no

significant changes in other Iraqi deployments in Iraq and Kuwait.
