PROTECTION,

                           IZ. CHEMICAL WARFARE PROTECTION
INCLUDED A MASK, OVERGARMENT, BOOTS, U/I INJECTIONS, SWABS, CREAM,  PILLS, AND U/I AMPULES, WHICH WOULD BE BROKEN IN THE MASK OF THE AFFECTED SOLDIER. SOLDIERS  [b.1. sec. 1.5.(c)]       WERE ISSUED
THE MASK RIGHT BEFORE THE WAR BEGAN, AND HAD NO SPARE FILTERS OR
PARTS. MOST SOLDIERS HAD NO CONFIDENCE IN THE EQUIPMENT'S ABILITY
TO PROTECT THEM. NO ADVANCED WARNING SYSTEM OF A CHEMICAL ATTACK
WAS AVAILABLE, AND SOLDIERS WERE INSTRUCTED TO DON THEIREQUIPMENT
WHEN THEY EXPERIENCED BREATHING DIFFICULTY OR OTHER SYMPTOMS, OR
WHEN THEY SAW CLOUDS OF MIST APPROACHING.
