Reference the confidential and personal letter number 4369 dated 23 May 1985
from Army Staff Command (Private Office), delivered to us by confidential and
personal letter number 761, dated 24 May 1985 from the Directorate of
Training, the following has been approved:
1. Fining shall be increased tenfold for the actual cost of
individual protection equipment and fivefold for the actual cost
of detection and decontamination supplies, if such should be lost
or damaged through negligence. Negligent personnel in custody of
equipment shall be investigated and penalized.
2. Losses in chemical protection equipment shall be equivalent to our
losses in personnel. The assumption is that this equipment is
carried by personnel and losses in equipment are thoroughly
checked by the division and regiment headquarters before they are
issued.
3. An investigative board shall be set up to investigate those who
inaccurately report losses in detection and chemical
decontamination equipment.
