	SUBJECT: Consumption of Chemical Items

	Pursuant to our secret and urgent letter number 83/1668 dated 10 
March 1983:

1.  	Consumption certificates are controlled by the chemical depot 
and approved by us.  They cancel out all other consumption 
certificates approved by the Chemical Branch commanders as of 
the date listed above, which gives a grace period of 30 days. 
 It is therefore effective as of 10 April 1983.

2.  	Consumption of chemical items and equipment is done by the 
commands in accordance with the instructions governing the 
issue, consumption and classification of chemical items 
contained in our secret and urgent letter 4285 on 20 April 
1981, specifically Articles 17, 18, 19 and 20).  Request your 
compliance.
