These classification markings are NOT U.S. Government markings. ********************************************* In the Name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful Secret g/10/445 3.6.1989 The Republican Guards, the peopleÕs guards Headquarters of the 9th armored brigade, RG General staff (Operations) Number : / 11/714 Date: March 6, 1989 To: List (a) Tank Battalion /55 RG Subject: Procedure In reference to secret letter number 955 dated February 31, 1989 by the chemical corps directorate, mentioned in secret letter number 469 dated March 1, 1989 by the chemical corps command, the forces command RG, mentioned in secret letter number 13/131 dated March 4 1989 by the chemical corps command, the Hamourabi Forces command RG, please note the following about the isolation center for contaminated. 1- There is no need to open the center to isolate the contaminated in the chemical decontamination station offered by the chemical units for chemical decontamination purposes since all persons and equipment in the contaminated area that was determined by evaluating the dangers of chemical decontamination and confirmed by chemical reconnaissance detachments, are contaminated and need decontamination. 2- The isolation center for the contaminated in the chemical decontamination station is limited to radiation decontamination only. Provide consulting to the unit command about chemical affairs. 2. Follow up with the chemical training in the unit and carry out the chemical training recommendations issued by the higher authority. 3. Follow the chemical support recommendations issued by the higher authority. 4. Supervise all the (chemical) training activities in the unit in cases of using chemical weapons. 5. Supervise testing protective masks in the gas chamber (tent) twice during the training year. 6. Perform the evaluation of the dangers of the chemical contamination by using the simple evaluation in order to give a chemical warning to the units or the sub units located at the bottom of the [wind]. 7. Following the completion of the following: a. The unitÕs chemical detector requirements b. The partial decontamination center c. The chemical warning methods in the unit and the quick effect of executing them. 8. Supervising the traineesÕ activities on detection, reconnaissance , partial decontamination of the sub units with an average of 5 persons for each sub unit and confirm their training. 9. Open a special record of manuals related to the chemical corps, and all instructions and guidelines issued by the higher authority pertaining to matters related to the chemical corps. 10. Supervise the platoons commandersÕ execution of the chemical training for their enrollers without depending on the chemical advisor. 11. Confirm that the chemical supplies are fully equipped in conformity with the size and function. Please take the necessary action and respond. A sudden chemical strike was launched on your unit during the training for a planned attack and the group attack for 6/12/1990 led by Qays Alwan, commander of the above command. The result was fair. We do not accept effects that are less than excellent such as hitting most of the fighters.
