Subject: Turkish Defenses

Turkish experts, with assistance from the United States and 
the International Atomic Energy Agency, are preparing a 
comprehensive program to protect Turkey in the event that a 
chemical or nuclear explosion should occur in the vicinity of 
the Turkish-lraqi border. The experts are carrying out 
chemical explosions southeast of the Andoul region for the 
purpose of studying the patterns by which prevailing winds 
disburse the chemical agents and the extent to which these 
agents impact on the affected areas.
