CHEMICAL SUPPORT RECOMMENDATIONS

1. SITUATION:
A. The Enemy
See Intelligence report of the 29th infantry battalion.
B. Our Sector
First. Formations and units of the 29th infantry battalion and those
attached.
Second. Chemical Units.
1. Four divisions of chemical surveillance from the reserve
support battalion 13 Fls.
2. A chemical P.S. officer from 29th infantry battalion.
3. Chemical P.S. officers of the formations and the chemical
advisers of the units.
2. THE MISSION
To secure the needs of chemical protection and chemical support for the 29th
infantry divisions at the intersection in the battalions area of responsibility.
3. EXECUTION
A. Chemical Duties:
First. The Battalion chemist should open a chemical observation position at his battalion
between the levels (895075) of the chemical surveillance divisions added to his battalion
from the reserve supports 13 FL3. The rest of the divisions will remain as reserved for the
forthcoming duties they are assigned to according to priorities.
Second. The cleaning lines have been selected to secure opening cleaning chemical
stations whenever needed and according to the chemical effort added to the battalion from
the squad.
Third. Secure water resourced at all intersections to be used in case of necessity.
B. Surveillance and Observations:
First. Open a chemical observatory at the units intersection with the efforts of the chemical
adviser in the unit.
Second. The chemical units:
1. Four chemical surveillance units from the support battalion 13 FL31
to execute the following duties:
a. A chemical surveillance vehicle at the main premises of the 29th
Infantry Battalion.
b. A chemical surveillance vehicle at the revolving site of the 29th
Infanty Battalion. (At the start of the movement).
c. The remaining chemical surveillance vehicles should remain
as reserves ready to carry out duties according to the following order of
priorities:
First. Survey the struck areas in case of any strikes by
the allocated weapons.
Second. Surveying the opening places in the reserved divisions
of the battalion co-ordinated with the P.S. chemical officer of the
battalion.
Third. Surveying the cleaning stations areas.
d. The responsibility of the chemical observatories will be according to
each intersections responsibility (unclear words).
C. Chemical Cleaning:
First. Individual cleaning. Which should be done by individuals urgently and as
soon as the pollution happens using cleaning equipment and individual first aid.
Second. Partial cleaning. Should be applied in the units with whatever is
available of the cleaning devices and cleaning alternatives.
Third. Over-all cleaning:
1. The chemical P.S. officer of the formations should select chemical
cleaning lines for each intersection.
2. In designation of a chemical effort from the squad to be used in
cleaning , the cleaning lines of the battalion should be as follows:
a. Cleaning plan No.1 called (1/SAH) at the rear of infantry 83
brigade - 84 brigade - and infantry 707 brigade which is
designated to the formations mentioned above in the axels (763065).
b. Cleaning plan No. 2 called (1/Mohamed) to support the
battalion and its units at the axels (702084).
c. Cleaning plan No. 3 called (1/Hamid) to support infantry 104
at the axels (787053).
3. The ground should be cleaned when a chemical pollution happens at
the important areas.
4. Water should be taken from the supply posts of every brigade.
Priorities should be made to the polluted units.
D.Prevention:
First. The prevention preparations should be born by everybody. (No.1)
Second. Checking of protection marks to assure reliability, as well as cleaning
equipment and individual first aid. In case of any default, the device should be
changed from the reserves.
Third. The collective protection shelter should be built and the chosen
positions.
Fourth. Preventions procedures of the inflamable materials should be used
according to the priorities applied.
E.Chemical Warning:
Any informations about the enemy's usage, or possibility of usage of the total
sabotage weapons should be conveyed immediately and should take priority
without any delay, according to the chemical warning wireless communication
schedule shown below.

F.Chemical Analysis:
The polluted samples brought by the surveillance elements should be sent to
the chemical field lab at the support battalion 13 FL3.
G.Reports:
First. The units hit by the allocated attacks should send reports of
observations to the primary observer whether the attack is nuclear or chemical. To
the higher command to which it is connected.
Second. The nuclear or chemical to the battalion premises. Other important
reports should be sent according to its working sequences that control the chemical units
work.
H.Recommendations of Coordination:
First. The chemical surveillance and observation should be made in an
effective continuous manner at the defence intersection.
Second. The air levels should be measured continuously at the rate of every
two hours.
Third. The marks should only be removed by the direct commander order
after checking the area to assure its safety. 15 minutes should be added to insure
safety.
Fourth. Be sure to wear protection masks as quickly as possible whenever
they are signs of total sabotage weapons attacks.
Fifth. The operations intersections should be surveyed by all chemical officers,
each at his intersection.
4.ADMINISTRATIVE AFFAIRS:
A. Urgent replacement of the chemical preparations should be made from the reserves
outside the formation measures.
B. Replacements should be made from the reserve at the chemical battalion which should
also be completed by the (unclear words).
C. The chemical devices and preparations should be repaired according to cleaning
priorities.
5. COMMAND AND INTELLIGENCE:
A. 29th chemical battalion premises with 29th battalion.
B. Chemical Brigade premises with formations premises.
C. Secret signs, codes and names as recommended by intelligence.
