The chemical ammunition requirements case

General
1.	This case was prepared in accordance with the logical principles that constitute the basis
of the detailed method to find the ammunition requirements.
2.	This case deals with two types of chemical agents only: Sarin and Mustard.

Objective
3. To provide an easy and quick method in finding the requirements of the chemical
ammunition in order to have the number of the required launches to operate the targets
equivalent to 155 mm ammunition.

Description
4. The case consists of seven rounds with unified locations as follows:

A. First Side:
First. The external first round and the following is confirmed:
			1- Table A Signaling contents
			2- Table B Transfer processes
3- Hole of the targetÕs surface in hectares
4- Three fields. Each field consists of the following parts:
				a. Total of the signaling contents
				b. 30% losses percentage by using 155 mm ammunition.
				c. 50% losses percentage by using 155 mm ammunition.

Second.	The second round was designed to deal with the targets that have a surface from 5
to 100 hectares and signaling contents of 2- 2.4.

Third: The third round was designed to deal with the targets that have a surface from 5 to
100 hectares and signaling contents of 2.6 - 3.

Fourth:	The fourth round was designed to deal with the targets that have a surface from 5
to 100 hectares and signaling contents of 3.2 - 3.6.

B. Second Side
First. The first external round and the following was confirmed:
			(1) Hole of the targetÕs surface in hectares
(2)Three fields. Each field consists of the following parts:
				a. Total of the signaling contents
				b. 30% losses percentage by using 155 mm ammunition.
				c. 50% losses percentage by using 155 mm ammunition.
(1-3)

Second.	The second round was designed to deal with the targets that have a surface from 5
to 100 hectares and signaling contents of 0.2 - 00.6.

Third: The third round was designed to deal with the targets that have a surface from 5 to
100 hectares and signaling contents of 0.8- 1.2.

Fourth:	The fourth round was designed to deal with the targets that have surface a from 5
to 100 hectares and signaling contents of 1.4 - 1.8.

Usage

The following measures are taken when using the case to find the requirements of the
ammunition. They are:

	a. Depend on the surface of the target to be operated in hectares
	b. Limits of the signaling contents then add the total.
	c. Organize the signaling three rounds so they would be lined up.
	d. Choose the round required in light of all the signaling contents.
	e. Put the targetÕs surface in the round designed for it.
	f. Read for the average of the required losses the number of required launches of 155
mm ammunition.
	g. Multiply the number of launches from the transfer agents when wanting to
transfer 155 mm ammunition to another ammunition in table B or using
Attachment A.

Example
Follow the below example on how to use the case:
a.
First: Objective: Unprotected Units
Second: TargetÕs surface: 30 hectares
Third: Agent type: Sarin
Fourth: Wind speed: about 9 Km / h (2.5 m /s)
Fifth: Vertical changes in temperature: Settled
Sixth: Temperature degree: 15.5 C (60 F)
Seventh: Ground: open and flat with some plants
Eighth:	Precipitation: not available
Ninth: The required percentage of losses: 50%.

B. Requirement
Find the ammunition requirements to make the required signaling on the target.

(2-3)

C. Solution
First: From Table A of the first side, the signaling contents are collected from the field
(Sarin in an attack of more that 30 seconds) and as follows:
		Equivalence 1.09
		Wind Speed 1.000
		Temperature Degree 0.12
		Ground 0.30
		Precipitation /not available	0.70

						3.21

Second:	In the total of the signaling contents that total 3.21, we find the required round
that needs to be used. It is the round that is within the ranges of 3.2 and 3.6.
Third: In order to receive the readings on the big disk, arrange the three other rounds so
that they would all be lined up. Keep the rounds in this position. Turn the big
round until number (30) appears in a hole (the targetÕs surface). In this case, the
value of the signaling contents in First above is closer to the value of the signaling
contents which appear on the round and amount to (3.2).
Fourth :	Below the hole of the signaling contents where the value 3.2 is and 50% of the
losses, read number 14 which represents the number of ammunition equivalent to
155 mm ammunition that are required to operate the target that has a surface of 30
hectares.
Fifth By using Table B of the first side, number 14 that represents 155 mm ammunition
may be changed to another ammunition after a strike with the required agent.
