TOPIC: Absence of Ide'~ntifiable Terrain Features
DISCUSSION:
Due to the absence or changing of terrain features, it may be
necessary to create artificial landmarks and reference points,
for navigation and orientation.
LESSON(S) LEARNED:
In addition to basic map reading skills, Marines, specifically
vehicle operators must utilize odometer readings and azimuths to
navigate. Navigational aids such as PLRS and GPS should be used
to support navigation.
