TOPIC:   Pipeline Crossings

DISCUSSION:

Various networks of oil and natural gas pipelines crisscross the
area of operations in SWA.   While maintenance access roads and
relatively frequent crossings exist, these pipelines can
constitute an obstacle to maneuver.   The placement ranges from
shallow burial, to bermed surface placement, to being elevated
above ground.

LESSON(S) ThEAPNED:

Units conducting operations in areas where pipelines are present
must be prepared to accomplish both hasty and deliberate pipeline
crossings.
