INTELLIGENCE/THREAT - 2
TOPIC: Installation Security
DISCUSSION:
Several terrorist groups operate in and around SWA. The U.S.
presence in the region may provide additional motivation to act
and will certainly provide lucrative targets for terrorist acts.
Security measures to reduce the collective and personal
vulnerability to attack must be taken consistent with the type
and level of threat in the area.
LESSON(S) LEARNED:
Lessons learned from examining past terrorist events should be
evaluated. Basic security~procedures should be established in
all camp areas and facilities. The single most proactive
antiterrorism measure is individual awareness. When combined
with appropriate physical security measures, individual awareness
and actions will defeat the terrorist plans.
