TOPIC:   High Failure Repair Parts

DISCUSSION:

Dust, sand, and rough terrain cause an estiinated 50 percent
increase in repair parts required to support a combat unit.
Parts subject to friction will fail with greater frequency in the
desert.   Additionally, plastic and rubber parts are prone to
dryrot and breakage.

LESSON(S) LEARNED:

Additional stocks of friction bearing parts, plastic, and rubber
parts and rubber seals are necessary.
