   TOPIC:  MREs

   DISCUSSION:

   There is a heavy dependence on MREs for food.  Older MREs will be
   consumed before newer ones.  Occasionally bad food items will be
   discovered.

   LESSON(S) LEARNED:

   MREs should be visually inspected and smelled before consumption.
   If a food item is at all questionable it should not be eaten.
   The item should be reported along with the lot number of the meal
   so that if it is found to be bad, the lot number for that meal
 * will be pulled.
