                            Personnel and Administration


          A consolidated administration section was -Formed to handle
        administrative matters -For all personnel within HqSvc Bn.


                                   Legal Action

          The following legal action was performed for Maines within
        the lst FSSS:

                                     Medical


          Medical support during February focused on constantly pre-
        paring +or the ground campaign and moving personnel and equip-
        ment North. Its prepositioned supplies were readied for con-
        tingencies and an excellerated medical/triage training schedule
        was brought on line. Also Marines were trained in basic first
        aid skills. GAS also updated all essential immunizations
        for all HqSvc En personnel and -For other services. During the
        month the GAS saw 483 patients, put 102 Marines on light duty,
        admitted 6 to the hospital, and had a total of 87 sick in
        quarters.

                                 Logistic/SLtpply

          Headquarters and Service Battalion provided a wide range of
        CSS to I MEF units in the Port of Al Jubail area. The motor
        transport assets of the Battalion logged over 88,000 miles,
        transported 229 S/Ts of cargo, and 8,284 passengers. Motor
        Transport assets consist of 83 prime movers and 27 trailers. In
        addition, extensive logistic support was provided to the tenant
        units aboard Camp 3 and to units in the KTO. Commercial bus
   transportation continued from and to the Port. The schedule
        was constantly changed to meet the needs of the customer.
        Numerous 5 Ton support was provided for mobile exchanges
        travelling from Al Jubeil to Kuwait.



                               Civic Action

          The CO, Headquarters and Service Battalion coordinnates
        extensively with public agencies and Saudi military units      on
