conducted with Saudi Frontier Forces northwest of the Camp and
a number of liaison visits were made with local authorities.

During the month of February the ISMO continued to align and
improve it's services to coincide with combat operations. Net-
working services were provided to I MEF Disbursing as well as
numerous computer dial-ins to the Port of JLibail. A specialized
team from HUMC and Quantico, VA, arrived and assisted in the
installation of the new Deployed Regional Automated Services Center
(DRASC). The DRASC has successfully processed all Class I data
and provided a telecommunications connection into the the Marine
Corps Data Network. The programming section completed various types
of systems designed to track a variety of items from casualties
to purchase orders. February was considered to be very productive
month for data processing.
Marine Corps Exchange
The combined sales for all exchanges during the month of
February totalled $2,958,254. Marine Corps Exchange total
sales to date are $10,250,198. The AAFES Impress Fund now
stands at $5,000,000. The Tactical Field Exchange mobile
concept continued with great success. Mobile Exchanges were
sent to Jaber Air Field and to Kuwait City to support division
Marines. During the month all operations and warehousing moved
from Camp 3 to the Camp 6 complex near the MEF (REAR) Head-
quarters.
Disbursing
Disbursing was gi ven On-Line VIS capability. This allowed the
office to research all pay problems/inquiries for Marines. Cash
requirements from Marines was heavy +or the -First two weeks of
very little activity after the 15th. The Disbursing
Office cashed $1,625,817 worth of checks, issued $17,595,458
worth and delt with $44,290 worth of dishonered checks.
Legal Service Support
The conduct of offensive operations necessitated an increase
in the number of legal personnel at LSST "B" (Kibrit) to 7
officers and 7 enlisted. The team was sent from LSSS (Main)
to Kibrit in order to provide adequate services to units preparing
to move to the KTO. Legal Services Support Section continued to
provide legal assistance to requesting units. Contact teams were
provided as needed to Tanajib, King Abdul Aziz Naval Base, and
Camp 15 +or the Combat Replacement Units. Additionally, the
Combat Replacement Units were brought up to speed on Law of War
matters soon after their arrival. With the prosecution of the
war, the LSSS has established a system for providing legal services on a
