                       PERSONNEL

                   a.  Threat Level    "WHITE"  - Enemy forces     have the   capability
              to employ NBC weapons but attack is not probabl@ @-4h-is time-@.-

                   b.  Threat Level    "YELLOW"     Attack probable,    units maintain
              HOPP level ZERO.

                 ..c,..-Threat Lev'@l  "RED" .- Siren sounds. Attack-is imminent.
              Units will go to MOPP@levei FOUR.

                   d. Threat Level     "BLACK" - Siren sounds. Friendly forces in
              zone have been exposed to a chemical attack. Units will remain in
              HOPP level FOUR unti'l "all clear' is given by the unit commander
              or senior Marine present.

              3. Immediate Action Prot;edures. The chart contained in
              enclosure (1) simply describes the relationship'between mission
              oriented protective postures and threat,conditions. The
              below activities are required for each threat'level.
                   a. Th .reat Level WHITE. Mask is car@ied.. Individuals have
              been issued Chemical Proteciive Overgarment (CPOG), with
              accessories (overboots, gloves, M-258 detector kit, etc..).

                   a.  Threat Level YELLOW.      An NBC alert -wi 1 1 -cause . lst-FSSG-@
              to set threat"level YELLOW. The Marines and Sailors of
              FSSG will immediately assume MOPP-level ZERO. Extraordinary
              measures to alert 100% of our personnel will not be taken
              unless directed by the Commanding General. Durrng hours of.
              darkness, nPP'level ZERO will be enforced for all p@rs6nnel
              who are moving about inside the camp. Personnel will not.b.e
              awakened. It is required that individual protective equipment
le in the billeting area.

                   b. Threat Level RED/BLACK. Upon receiving word of an
              imminent attack, threat level RED will be set. An actual
              attack will result in the setting of threat level BLACK.
              These conditions will be initiated by the siren sounding
              throughout the camp. When the siren sounds, personnel will
              take the following immediate actions:

                       (1) Stop breathing

                       (2) Mask

                       (3,) Give  the,alarm

                       (4) Seek   cover

                       (5) Assume HOPP level     4
