                                          Legal Action

           The Commanding Officer, lat    Landing Support Battalion has field
        grade NJP authority. As such,     the following legal proceedings were held
        at this level:

                   Lt Enney assigned to investigate the circumstances surrounding
                   the death of Corporal S. F. Bianco,                    usvc


                                           Medical


            The Battalion Aid Station (BAS) provided medical support to 24
        operational commitment/deployments. There were 1,176 patient visits to
        the BAS during this time period. The different categories are shown
        below:

                         274       Patients seen for Sick Call
                         629       Immunizations
                         273       Limited Service


         TAD Support: The BAS sent 4 corpsman in support of various Landing
        Support Detachments in country. Four unit one kits and two beach bags
        were provided as material support. Two satellite BAS's were set up at
        pre-designated locations.
         There are 14 personnel presently assigned to the BAS in the following
        pay grade:

                                      Enlisted: E-7: I
                                                  E-5: 1
                                                  E-4: 7
                                                  E-3: 5


            The BAS was inspected by Consolidated Preventative Medicine Section
        and received an overall grade of outstanding. The BAS conducted litter
        bearer training classes and medical training for the 24 Marines assigned
        as the battalion litter bearers.
