          1   (U) General


                  a. Mission Oriented Protective Posture (MOPP) Levels.
                     Guided by the reference, commander must ensure their
          forces understand and comply with the MOPP Levels outlined
          on the following page in the event Chemical Warfare is
          initiated.


                  b. Mopp Level Modifications


                     (1) Mopp Level Zero Plus. Mopp Level Zero Plus
          consists of physically carrying the overgarment, boots and
          gloves at all times. Commanders may initiate MOPP Level Zero
          Plus whenever the threat of an NBC attack is probable.

                     (2) Mopp Level Minus. Mopp level Minus can be
          initiated throughout Mopp levels 1-4 by degrading the level of
          protection in an effort to increase ventilation or cooling
          of the body during hot weather. An example of this would
          be rolling up the protective hood in Mopp Level 3 to expose the
          neck and allow heat to escape.
