            1.  (U) (leneral


                     a. (U) Individual Protective Measures (IPM).
            Individual protective measures are those measures tkat each
            person takes before, during and after an NBC attack to enhance
            their ability to survive and to continue to operate during NBC
            warfare. The measures are outlined below and are based
            on the excerpts from reference (a).

                          (1) (U) Actions taken before the attack.

                              (a)  (U) Maintain up-to-date immunizations.

                              (b)  (U) Practice good personal hygiene and
            sanitation.


                              (c)  (U) Identify protective shelters.

                              (e)  (U) Maximize overhead cover.


                              (t)  (U) Cover all exposed materials with
            tarpaulin or other materials.

                              (9) (U) Shield or bury sensitive electronics.

                              (a)  (U) Don protective mask and hood.

                              (b)  (U) Assemble in bunkers.

                              (e)  (U) Don protective clothing, covering all
