                                    NARRATIVE SUMMARY


        S. Command, Operations and Training. During this reporting
        period, 3d Battalion, 23d Marines remained deployed in Kuwait as
ERT STORM. The Battalion's position remained
        the same throughout this period. On March 1 1991, the Battalion
        conducted a sweep of two agricultural compounds, vicinity grid at
        6835. No enemy personnel were found, but enemy equipment was
        identified for later destruction by combat engineers. On March 2
        1991, both compounds were swept again and engineers destroyed
        several abandoned Iraqi vehicles located there. During 3 March
        1991 - 8 March 1991 the Battalion swept the two compounds with
        cavalry teams daily, after which the unit was relieved of this
        duty. During this reporting period a Battalion-wide training plan
        was reestablished. Priority was given to training that would
