TF TARO continued to deploy CAAT's forward into AO Longi-ifle
on I February. Reconnaissance teams one and two were extracted
from Khafji.. Both teams were debriefed by the TF S@-2 Officer.
TF TARO issued a fragmentary order instructing Ist Battalion, 3d
Marines to assume 3d Battalion, 3d Marines' mission; to provide
CAAT's to secure AO Longrifle.
On 2 February TF TARO snipers completed training an the
Barrett Rifle. The TF continued to maintain a forward defensive
posture with CAAT's and artillery batteries denloyed into AO
Longrifle. Hosted a brief by the KAAB Liaison Officer on the
enemy situation in Khafji. A security team escorted National
press into Khafji.
On 3 February TF TARO continued forward defensive posture
with CAAT's and artillery batteries deployed in AO Longrifle
Conducted a visual reconnaissance of t.he Khafii battlefield.
Initiated familiarization training with the FOX NBC vehicle.

Officer to commence surrender appeals in Khafji utilizing
coalition and organic assets. Conducted liaison with the !,-t
Marine Division G-3 on future operations. Issued a warning order
for the conduct of a Task Force heliborne assual-t.
TF TARO continued planning for the conduct of Psy0ps in
Khafji on 6 February. Conducted Regimental helicopter lift
planning with MAG-16 and MAG-26 representatives at Tanalib.
Conducted helicopter insertion training with the @@F'@ recon
platoon utilizing two CH-46's. Conducted a helicopter And T@-,W
vehicle loadex utilizing two CH-53's and M!51 TOW vari.a-,it@.
On 7 February TF TARO conducted a Psy0ps operation in Khaf:'@i
utilizing coalition forces and organic assets. Continued
heliborne operations planning with wing and MAG re,rre-entativef
located at Tanajib. Conducted NBC Defense trainin@ with the TE'l-
general support decon team. Participated in I MEF debrief of
reconnaissance teams that participated in the battle for Kh@f,i.
