        1-4 JAN          2d Combat Engineer Battalion (CEB) constructed
                         Division Rech Assault Course (DKAC) and MCAGCC
                         Obstacle Breach Course (OBC).

        1-7 JAN          Reactive armor mounted on ath Tank Battalion M60AI
                         tanks.

        1-8 JAN          2d Recon Bn conducted recon patrols in the vicinity
                         of the division area of operations.

        1-10 JAN         Co A, 1/8 provided security for the I KEF command
                         Post and Co C. 1/8 provided security for ASP #I.
                         One Plat, Co B, 1/8 provided security to the I MEF
                         Forward Command Post.

        1-27 JAN         4th Civil Affairs Group conducted classes in Law of
                         Land Warfarep Handling Of Dislocated Civilians,
                         Property Control and Public Health for 2d MarDiv
                         units.

        3 JAN            2d MarDiv units commenced movement from Camp 15 and
                         Tent Camps ISA-15E, to training areas in the vici-
                         nity of Cement Factory Ridge and Thunderbolt/Saudi
                         Range.

                         2d CEB mobile training team conducted training
                         on Iraqi mines.

                         2d LAI Bn moved forward as division screen
                         vic UL075074.

                         10th Marines conducted regimental commex in
                         p3..,,-.aLion for serviceability firing of artillery.

                         10th Marines firing batteries practiced night
                         RSOPS.

        3-10 JAN         Additional platoon, company B, 1/8 provided
                         security for I XEF Forward Command Post.

  2d AA Bn, 2d LAI Bn, and 10th Marines conducted
                         small arms live fire at Thunderbolt/Saudi range.

                         Division tasked to assemble ground force for
                         possible Somalia NEO. mission later tasked to 4th
                         MEB.

                         Elements of 2d CEB and 2d AA Bn conducted training
                         on the Division Mach Assault Course (DMAC) and
                         XCAGCC Obstacle Breaching Course (OBC).
