        ANNEX B TO THIRD NCR MAIN OPLAN DESERT STORM@U
        INTELLIGENCE (U)

        1. (U) INTELLIGENCE MISSION AND CONCEPT OF OPERATIONS

             a. (U) Mission. Battalion S-2 Sections will provide unit Commanders
        and Staff with mission specific intelligence required to make decisions
        during the planning and execution of assigned missions.

             b. (U) Concept of Operations.    Subordinate units will continuously
        review intelligence requirements to identify gaps in their holdings and
        participate in intelligence gathering activities.

             C. (U) Intelliaence Support Available.     Requests for intelligence
        support will be coordinated primarily through the commander of the critical
        facility where NCF units are located and the THIRD NCR R2.

        2. (U) SITUATION. See the basic plan.

        3. (U) INTELLIGENCE ACTIVITIES

             a. (U) Collection

                  (1) (U) Human Intelligence.    Enemy prisoners (EPW), detainees
        and line crossers will be reported immediately to the critical facility
        commander to obtain guidance on further dispensation.       EPW's will be
        detained and placed under guard.     Captured/detained personnel will be
        afforded their rights according to the Geneva Convention. It is the unit's
        responsibility to transport EPW's to the MARCENT holding facility or other
        location designated by the Critical Facility Commander.

                  (2)  (U) EPW's will be allowed to retain personal effects
        including rings, watches, money, clothing, sleeping equipment, chemcial
xcluding
        knives and forks) and identification cards or tags. Documents other than
        personal identification will be confiscated, tagged to be identified with
        the EPW and turned over to intelligence personnel for evaluation.

                  (3) (U) When enemy radios are captured, the dials/switches will
        not be moved or changed. Communications material will be forwarded to the
        Critical Facility Commander by the fastest means available.

                  (4) (U) Medical Intelligence. Commands will report immediately
        to their respective critical facility commander and THIRD NCR any evidence
