         1. (U) CONCEPT OF OPERATION

             a. (U) The FSSO will provide explosive ordnance disposal
         (EOD) support to the CE, CSSE, OCE, and reinforce the ACE when
         required. EOD teams must be able to rapidly respond, in any
         environment, to support any contingency, including a nuclear
         response.

             b. (U) EOD assets are limited, and must be utilized
         prudently. Priority will be given to forward maneuver elements
         but,-must be organized to effectively support lateral,
         external, and rear area operational elements as required.

         2. (U) TASXS


             a. (U) Direct Support Command, General Support Group, and
         Rear Area Operations Center

                  (1-) (U) Exercise operational control over assigned or
         attached EOD assets as discussed in reference (a)'.

                  (2) (U) Ensure coordination between EOD and supported
         units is established and maintained.

                  (3) (U) Establish and operate an EOD Incident reporting
         system.

                  (4) (U) Alert EOD teams of conventional, nuclear,
         chemical or biologically ordnance contaminated areas.

                  (5) (U) Detect, field evaluate, recover, render safe,
         and dispose of any conventional, nuclear, chemical or
         biological ordnance, weapon or component thereof, of U. S. or
         foreign manufacture.

 (U) Assign priorities to reqiests for EOD
         assistance and employ task organized EOD teams in support of
         all elements within the assigned AOR.
