Looistics
Numerous HMMWV's had alternator bracket/bolt oroblems. Soares were not to be
had thru the supply svstem. On 7 Februarv. 3d Battalion. 10th Marines orovided
samole bolts and brackets to DSO for the ourpose of fabricating some in the
civilian community. These fabrications were recei./ed on 9 Februarv and 5 @iMMWV's
immediately came UO.
Followina the artillery raid on l@@ Februarv, the battalion was resliaolied with
1-76 DPICM and 192 RAP. An 804 round soecial issue of artillc?rv ammunition was
authorized bv the Reoimental Commander to brino the battalion uo to max carrvino
caoacitv. On 16 February. onlv 265 RAP of the St)4 total authorized were picked up
at ASP-4 (Kibrit) due to administrative errors in the e::tensive chain of
command for ammunition resupoly requests.
On 17 Februarv an actual medivac was conducted for a Marine with aoaendicitis.
The battalion received all outstanding 2-PAM Chloride and CIPRO/14APP oills on 20
and 22 Februarv resoectivelv.
A drive shaft for the M49 Refueler was finallv received which brouoht it off
the deadline 1,.s@. On I'@- February. all oas cans. water cans. canteens. water bulls
and refi-telers were tooped off in oreoaration for the around offensive. On the
evenino of @'3 Februarv the Combat Train which incl;ded three wreckers. two M49
refuelers. two 3-tons with si),con pods (total caoacity 4200 canons of diesel). and
eioht LVS's of artillery ammunition for the preoaration fires. crossed the border
.nto Kuwait.

"H" @1/12 and Batterv "I" positions resoectively pror to disolac:ina throuah the
breach. Four bulldozers and one TRAM (flat tire) were left in oosition. but five
additional LVS's of artil!erv ammunition were taken throuch the breach.
Three LVS's unloaded their ammunition at the firino batteries on 25 Februarv.
These same vehicles were sent soutn to oick uo the ammunition left on the deck and
returned with 565 rounds. RE?fuelers and water bulls were todoed off at OSG-1. on 28
Februarv after thev failed to oush the resuoplv forward to us for two davs in
succession.
