               Subj:  POTABLE WATER TESTING OF ROYAL GIFT DRINKING WATER

               Ref:   (a) standard Methods for the Examination of Water and
                          Wastewater
                      (b) NAVMED P-5010-S


               1. in accordance with references (a) and (b), random
               bacteriological testing of three bags of water labeled 'DRINKING
               WATER ROYAL GIFTO was performed by our Preventive Medicine
               Section on 19 October, 1990. The testing was performed using the
               'Membrane Filter Technique. The results of the tests were OToo
               Numerous Too Count' (TNTC) on all three samples for background
               bacteria. Additionally, one sample showed possible coliform type
               bacteria also TNTC. This sample is currently being futhor tested
               by the Navy Forward Laboratory. Futher testing of other bass of
               water are being accomplished today.


               2. Based on the above results and since the bagged water has no
               lot number identifying when or where it came from, It is strongly
               recommended that this water not be used for human consumption.
