              Dear Mr.            5 USC 552(b)(6)

                 A telephone conversation between Mr.             a
              member of your organization, and Chief Warrant Officer
              J. E. Barnett, a representative of I Marine
              Expeditionary Force, revealed that we should contact
              you to obtain information regarding current holdings of
              chemicals in the Jubail area. Specifically, we are
              interested in the current inventories of ammonia at the
              ibn Baytar facility (both its plant and port locations)
              and the Samad facility. In addition, we would like to
              know whether these inventories represent a reduction in
              stored quantities based on the present crisis. If the
              quantities have been reduced, we would like to know the
              maximum quantities that can be stored. This
              information will assist us in our assessment of the
              potential danger from the chemical storage facilities
              in the area.
