                             NBC DEFENSE OPERATIONS (U)



     1. (U) SITUATION

            a.      Enemy. ANNEX B (Intelligence) and current IntSUMS.
            b. .@rjkndly. See task organization.

            C. -400" Assumption. See reference (a).
     2.  (U) MISSION. Maintain the optimum posture for NBC defense against
     enemy employment consistent with other mission requirements.

     3. (U) EXECUTION


            a. -(m&O Concept of Operations. On order, 2d MarDiv
     conducts breaching          into the KUWait Theater of Operations
     (KTO). Units must be prepared to conduct offensive operations in a
     chemical/biological environment.

            b. =44"mTasks

                (1) *t%@, Gth Marine Regiment (NBC Decon Team)

                     (-,) -Wr-)- Locate, construct, and be prepared to
     activate a personnel equipment and casualty decontamination site in
     the vicinity west-northwest of Al Jaber airbase (vic. OT 6707).

                     (b) -404-Be prepared to conduct handover of
     deconta mination site with Headquarters Battalion NBC Defense Team.

                (1) -telf Ensure individual a.nd organizational equipment is
     protected to minimize chemical contamination.

                (2) -(-@+ On 6 Day, all 2d MarDiv units are directed to
     assume MOPP Level Two.. Dvergarment-84 (06-84) is recommended as the
     initial suit to be worn during conduct of the breach.

                (3) -t" On 22 February at 0600 (Iocall, all 2d MarDiv
     units are directed to begin taking pretreatment medicants of NAPP and
     CIPRO (On order, subject to change).
