                      Operations) to.2d MarDiv OPLAN DESERT STORM

           1. SITUATION

               a.   Enemy. See Annex 8 (Intelligence) to 6th Marines Operation
                    Order 1-91. Enemy is capable of delivering biological and
                    chemical munitions. Attacks will most likely occur during
                    hours of darkness or pre-dawn. Enemy will attdmpt to disrupt
                    offensive momentum and interrupt rear area operations with
                    chemical attacks. Both non-persistent and persistent agents
                    will be used either exclusively or in a mixture with
                    conventional weapons.

               b.   Friendly. See Paragraph 1 of basic order. CSSD-26 will
                    provide heavy equipment necessary to construct chemical
                    casualty/decon sites in forward areas and will provide an
                    initial 3000 gallons of water for decontamination operations
                    and prepare to transport additional requirements as
                    identified.


           2.  MISSION

               Take all:,@;p@ossible active and passive defensive measures
               including maintaining the capability to decontaminate personnel
               and equipment, operate control centers for sustained periods, and
               conduct. monitor/survey operations in accordance with references
               (a) through (E).

           3. EXECUTION


               a. Tasks

                    (1) Headquarters Company, 6th  Marines

                        (a)  Ensure chemical casualty/equipment/personnel
                             decontamination sites are constructed and maintained
                             for Headquarters Company and for use as a regimental
                             overflow point to assist subordinate units.
                             Possible site: grid square QT 6416.

                        (b) Be prepared to support Det, NBCD Plat, HqCo, HqBn,
                             2d MarDiv in construction of HqCo decon sites.
