Recommendation:
Additional padding is needed -For the inner surfaces of the
carrier, and current supplies of out date filter elements should be
removed from inventories.

M-6A2 HOOD
Discussion:
The hoods +or M-17 series mask are critical items which insures
the safety of Marines. Due to extreme temperatures and sand.
This piece of gear deteriorated at a rapid rate. The lack
replacements -Forced "stop gap" procedures to be implemented.
Recommendation:
Increase supplies, and developed a single body hood, -Form
fitted similarly the one used in the AR-5 System.
Topic:
CAM CHEMICAL AGENT MONITOR
Discussion:
The CAM was introduced to the KTO with numerous unanswered
questions, as to it's reliability, accuracy, and its' ability to
meet specifications. The CAM was not reliable. It -Failed initial
background testing in the theater i.e., indicating chlorine bleach
(a standard decontaminate) was a blister agent. It also indicated
a blister agent was present near a waste water collection point
adjacent to a field shower unit which was determined not accurate.
Recommendation:
The CAM is seen as a part of the problem, and not the solution.
Discontinue procuring this unit until additional modifications
can be made to prevent in accurate readings.
