1. The public is eager for details of how America's armed forces
achieved such a stunning victory in Operation Desert Shield/
Desert Storm. With this audience in mind, the OPNAV staff has
developed a briefing which portrays the contributions of the
Navy-Marine Corps team in this historical victory-.
2. The briefing at enclosure (1), in addition to telling the
story of Navy-Marine Corps involvement in Desert Shield/Desert
Storm, also emphasizes the ongoing contributions of maritime
forces to the national security strategy. The briefing is
intended for a broad use in public fora.
