            18 Jan    President signed an executive order authorizing recall of ready
                      reserve units and individuals and authorized reserves involun-
                      tarily recalled under Title 10, U.S.C. 673b, to serve up to
                      12 months


            19 Jan    SECDEF increased call-up authority to 361,250 ready reservists
                      for up to 360 days (44,000 Navy and 44,000 Marines)

            25 Jan    CNO extended cumulative period of active duty for involuntarily
                      recalled reservists not to exceed 12 months


            27 Feb    SECNAV announced special pay extended to reserve medical and
                      dental corps officers activated in support of Desert Shield/
                      Storm


             8 Mar    CNO ordered phased demobilization of reserves involuntarily
                      recalled for Desert Shield/Storm

            25 Mar    Nonessential Navy personnel serving with Marine Corps were
                      released
