         Morbidity

                Of the 43,552 National Guard servicemembers, 2,764 (6.3% of
         population) (lo.G% female, 89.4% male) suffered illness or injury
         during Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm.
                Length of hospitalization ranged from 0 to 11,384 days, with
         a mean of 48.379 days, a median of 3.000 days, and a mode of
         2.000 days (Table 5, Figure 1).
