          2.       The minutes of the 11 April 1991 meeting were r        id
          approved as written.







          4.       Availability of Vaccine. No information was pr         @d
          to the committee on current availability of either anthr
          botulinum vaccines. LTC McKee reported botulinum toxoid
          scheduled to be manufactured at USAMRIID under contract
          the Salk Institute. He also stated there would be diffi         is
          converting the existing facility.

          5. (U) Research Effort.

              a. COL Tomlinson reported talking with TSG referenc
          challenge studies to evaluate the efficacy of combining         kx
          vaccine and ciprofloxacin. TSG agreed with the conmiitte
          recommendation that these studies were not necessary at
          present time.

              b. LTC McKee reported the challenge studies involvi
          inhalation anthrax exposure, found prolonged use (30 day
          antibiotics following anthrax exposure proved to be high
