            SUBJECT: Status of Vaccination Program for Anthrax and Botulinum
            Toxin and Ciprofloxacin Antibiotic @



            1. (U) Purpose: To provide information on status of Biological
            Warfare (BW) Vaccination Program in support of Operation Desert
            Shield.

            2. (U) Facts:






               b.  @ According to MAJ Tynan in the CENTCOM Surgeon's Office
            (15 Jan 91) about 62o    '.IT&

            around 22 Jan 91 they will start
            Anthrax vaccination program star e on 8 Jan 91. CENTC      as ad
            more requirements for anthrax vaccination than doses available.

               C. (@Vaccination of the botulinura toxoid may start in 1-2
            days.

               d. (U) MAJ Tynan has glowing praises for MAJ Mason and his
            team. Their efforts have made the vaccination program a success.

               e.  @ Ciprofloxacin - It will take two more weeks before all
            service members will have their blister pack of Cipro (10
            tablets/pack, one tablet every 12 hrs). The distribution system is
            doing its bes
