         MEMORANDUM FOR DIRECTOR, JOINT STAFF                 14 DEC19M

         SUBJECT: Alert Message to Prepare for Initiation     of the BW
                   Vaccination Program @


         1. @ In anticipation of a decision to vaccinate against anthrax
         and botulinum toxin, request an alert message be forwarded to
         CENTCOM to address the following issues:

              a.   (U) Country clearance for  vaccination team members:

                   MASON, CARL            MAJ
                   CAUDLE, LESTER C. III MAJ
                   WILKINSON, STEPHEN      CPT
                   GIOVANETTI, PENNY       MAJ
                   HARRIS, STEVEN          SFC
                   VOGT, ARTHUR            SFC

              b.  @ Immediate transportation and refrigerated storage of
         initial vaccine shipment upon arrival l


                   4 Pallets   80 cubic feet    440 pounds
                   1 Pallet    26 cubic feet    280 pounds

              C. (U) Immediate transportation of supplies to warehouse for
         temporary storage upon arrival:

                 . 17 Pallets 800 cubic feet     7500 pounds

              d. (U) CINC representatives to work with Preventive Medicine
         (PM) Vaccination Team to develop/f inalize CENTCOM vaccination plan.

              e. (U) organic medical personnel of the units designated to
         receive vaccine will assist in immunization of soldiers.

              f. (U) A dedicated airframe for each of the three two-member
         vaccination teams.

         2. (U) Army remains prepared to provide technical advice/
         assistance to the Joint Staff as required.
