                                       (3) Impact on mission caused by decontamination
following a false alarm on the detectors.

                             d. M25BAl or M291 Skin Decontaminating Kits. The use of
TSP Improves the efficiency of personnel deco ystems.
Soldiers should perform skin decontamination fter
chemical contamination, as the effectiveness of TSP decreases
with time. During decontamination, TSP protected skin areas must
have as much of the TSP removed as possible. If not removed,
there is a risk that the vesicant agent will be forced into the
remaining barrier film causing secondary exposure to underlying
                   skin.

                   4. Steps for Applying Topical Skin Protectant

                            a. In the event that off the shelf commercially packaged
TSP Is procured, do not use the application instructions which
are intended for industrial occupations. A new stick on label
with military use instructions @ be applied over the
commercial instructions. Procurement of a sand colored container
with directions imprinted in black letters (military application
instructions) is underway. Use the procedures as indicated in
                   paragraph b. below.

                            b. When directed by your commander/leader, apply TSP as
