          PERSONNEL PEG:

              a. Obtain better definition of the types and numbers
          of conventional and unconventional (nuclear, biological,
          chemical, combined injury, etc.) casualties for medical and
          tactical planning purposes.(HCD)

              b. Develop a recruiting and retention strategy whiph
          provides incentive Rackages, Professional medical education
          Programs, cruality accessions, upward promotion mobility,
          and realistic and challenging training programs, to
          resource all medical Army components over the next 15 years
          in order to address shortfalls between current peacetime
          a-ssets and peak wartime rectuirements.(EM

              C. Develop a personnel management strategy Plan to
          align the force by grade and skill using objective force
          models while taking into account MF2K changes, future force
          restructuring, contingency force expansions, and health
          care readiness.

              d. Improve battlefield casualty management and
          evacuation to speed the return of soldiers to duty.
          Improve flexibility, deployability, mobility, and
          sustainability of field medical units. Develop innovative
          means to minimize time from wounding to treatment and
          improve casualty survivability by acquiring improved
          medical evacuation transport and materiel to facilitate
          enroute treatment. Pursue medical technology that lightens
          the logistical load and enhances combat healthcare to
          mobilizing and deploying forces.

              e. Need to also address the ability to expand
          information regarding medical treatment requirements of
          combat casualties and military, government and NDMS
          hospital capabilities. (COL J)
