            4. (U) TITLE: PROFIS Chief Nurse

            5. (U) OBSERVATION: The deployed  TOE Chief Nurse needs to
            also be the Garrison Chief Nurse.

            6. (U) DISCUSSION:   A deploying unit needs to have stable
            leadership. Replacing the garrison chief nurse with a higher
            ranking PROFIS filler can create problems. The garrison chief
            nurse knows the people, policies, and procedures. The grade as
            well as the skills of this individual and the PROFIS fillers
            must be ad@ate to the position. The FORSCOM Chief Nurse can
            also identify key positions such as Anesthesia, OR, and ICU
            Head Nurses in garrison so that during deployment these
            critical areas can be covered.




            7. (U) LESSON LEARNED: Assign AN with appropriate skill and
            grade for TOE Chief Nurse. identify other key nursing positions
            through FORSCOM assets or current PROFIS roster.
            B. (U) RECOMKENDED ACTION: Coordinate between DASG-CN, TAPC-
            OPH-AN, FORSCOM CN, and HSC Chief Nurse for assignment to Chief
            Nurse and other key positions.
