PART 1: Executive Summary
-Mission. The mission of the Office of the Army Assistant
Surgeon General for Dental Services and Chief of Army Dental Corps
is to advise on and develop policy relating to oral, dental and
maxillofacial health and care, and manage dental officer resources
for the Office of the Surgeon General.
-General description. During operation Desert Shield/Storm
the Office served to provide guidance on all oral, dental and
maxillofacial issues. It coordinated efforts by dental elements
at all Army commands supporting mobilization, deployment, and
tactical operations.
-Dates, locations, and major participants.
The Office of the Assistant Surgeon General for Dental
Services is located in Room 629, Skyline Building 5, 5109 Leesberg
Pike, Falls Church, VA 22041-3258.

-Significant issues. It is the perception of this office
that dental support to the Operation was excellent and dental
personnel at all levels should be commended for their ability to
adjust to operational conditions for which very few preparation.
