Operation Desert Shield/Storm
Part II: Lessons Learned
A. Observations
1. There were insufficient patient care supplies for
occupational therapy early in the operation.
2. Substitutions and/or additions to TOEs are difficult
to make and require extensive coordination.
B. Discussion - See Part I, D above.
C. Recommended Action -
1. Equipment and supplies to provide occupational
therapy services as soon as a unit arrives in their forward
deployed location must be identified and stocked in a position
accessible for deployment. Equipment and personnel must a=ive
together.
2. include all necessary team members on the TOE as per
MF2K implementation.
