     all preventive medicine and related personnel in HSC. It has already
     been transmitted to 7th MEDCOM and FORSCOM.

     7his is a copy of an MFR we prepared concerning Our consolidated
     recommendations for troops deploying to the Middle Eastern Area
     of Operation. It is being provide for HSC's retransmission to
     installation Preventive Medicine Services so they can respond to
     inquiries to ongoing deployments and the preparation of PROFIS
     filler personnel at their facilities.

       SUBJECT: Recommended Preventive Countermeasures for Troops
       Deploying to the Middle East
       1. Following discussions with the FORSCOM SLirgeon's Office and
       the Armed Forces Medical intelligence Center, the Preventive
       and Military Medicine Consultants Division, OTSG, recommended
       the following immunizations and chemoprophylaxis measures for
       troops deploying to the Middle East.
            MENINSOCOCCAL (A, C, y, W135) - For all troops not receiving
       the quadrivalent vaccine within the last 5 years.
            TETANUS-DIPHTHERIA (T-d) TQXGID - For all troops not
iving the T-d toxoid within the last 10 years.
            TYPHOID - For all troops not receiving the typhoid vaccine
       within the last 3 years.                     is) - all personnel
            IMMUNE GLOBULIN (pre-expoSLire prophylax
