Each tent Upgraded with plywood floor. - With RED HORSE engineering team support, constructed a 1050' x 500' aircraft parking pad, aircraft hangar, and hot pit refueling pad. - Constructed three shower-latrine facilities in officer and NCO areas. - Installed and operated a water purification plant that produced over five million gallons of treated water. - Installed and operated a generator plant large enough to power a small city (greater than three billion kilowatt hours). - Responded to more than 2000 maintenance and repair requests on base facilities. SERVICES - Billeting increased by over 100% from early Sep 90. Enhanced all living areas by purchasing over $1 million worth of billeting furnishings ranging from lamps to chairs to refrigerators. - Opened the Tactical Field Exchange in early Oct 90 to accommodate snack and health and beauty aids needs of our military. - Purchased 60 washer/dryer units for self-service wash which greatly reduced the load on the base laundry. - The holiday Thanksgiving and Christmas buffets added a special touch of home to all. - Deployed a three-man, billeting team to a forward operating location to effect the smooth redeployment and settling in process of one of our fighter squadrons. - Established a flight meal program to support the flying operation during the war. - Designed a base mortuary unparalleled in the AOR -- concrete slab and drainage to sewer system. - - Creatively combined three mobile kitchen trailers to produce quality baked goods. - To meet customer needs, 24-hour services at billeting, the laundry, dining facility, and Tactical Field Exchange was instituted during the war.
