COMBAT CAMERA 
 
- Provided ongoing still and video documentation of all base operatiOns, 
activities, working and living facilities, and special events. 
 
- Public release of video to news bureaus and networks and still photos 
appeared in the Air Force Times (cover story), Time, Newsweek, and numerous 
newspapers, creating national exposure for the 388 TFW deployed.
 
- Aerial mission photos helped assess tone down verification and camouflage 
and deception efforts. 
 
SECURITY POLICE
 
- Posted guards at two off-base bomb dumps. 
 
- Provided night helicopter recon patrol around perimeter of base. 
 
- Security provided at two locations to include convoy security of buses to
one location. 
 
MORALE, WELFARE, AND RECREATIoN 
 
- Set up rec center with ice cream sales, ping-pong, foosball, and arcade 
games as well as operation of two weight tents and four movie viewing 
areas. 
 
- Set up numerous sports/games tournaments, intramural athletics, and men's 
and women's base softball teams that competed in downtown softball leagues. 
 
- Sponsored Thomas Hearns on his USO sponsored "Handshake Tour" of our 
base. 
 
- Established retail sales to supplement Tactical Field Exchange items not 
available through their sources. 
 
- Sponsored numerous base theme parties to include: Halloween,
Thanksgiving, New Year's Eve and Victory parties. 
 
MISSION SUPPORT
 
-Received first large shipment of mail on 22 Sep 90. 
 
- Reprographics averaged almost 100,000 copies per month. 
 
- Developed a plan for and supervised the sandbag detail that culminated in
the filling of over one-quarter million sandbags used for base defense.
