DISCUSSION: Apparent causes Included absence of AFF 422, Physician Profile Serial Report, and disregard by commanders for assignment rules for personnel on medical hold. Also, many ARC personnel do not report medical problems for fear of being discharged from the reserves: Dental problems are a particular problem since many ARC personnel are not covered by dental insurance, and may not feel able to afford adequate dental care. Screening of Individuals for medical fitness for deployment varied from base to base. RECOMMENDATIONS: Follow established guidance with more stringent adherence to physical profiling procedures. Determine appropriate mobility screening procedures, and add to AFR 28-4. MOP 17 If necessary. Possible solution to dental problem might be to offer reservists an Inexpensive dental treatment plan. ACTIONS REQUIRED: None. Adequate guidance already exists on proper procedures for screening, profiling, etc. Adherence to the regulating ~ the answer to this Problem.
