(U) - Nightly guard duty:continued. Red Horse and CCTs did their
share.
(U) 8 Mar 91
(U) - Last full day of Red Horse and EOD operations. Worked out
details for transporting personnel back to KKMC and Al Karj.
(U) - Demolition work, surveying, and intelligence continued.
- CCTs told us the well armed Iraqi Republican Guard was on
the move. Their destination was unknown. The team was briefed to be prepared
for extraction as required.
(U) 9 Mar 91
- Army delivered 62 tons (NEW) of M603 antitank mines in nine
trucks, some of which were 40 footers, trailers, and 5 ton dumps. The Army
Corps of Engineers no longer needed them. These mines were to be used for
defensive purposes. They were happy to unload these munitions and were
especially pleased that they would be used productively.
- Began charging the Hiss with 4 pallets of mines.

(U) - The top layer of mines was primed with 2-4 blocks of C-4.
- Destroyed the first three HASs that night. Complete
destruction was achieved. The only thing left was part of the concrete pad.
- Recovered two AA-10, Alamo Russian missilies in their shipping
containers. FTD has them now. (see photo 7)
- Charged more of the HASs for demolition,. Charged and blew
Ammunition Suppy Points (ASP). The underground ASP had a secondary
detonation of White Phosphorous. Complete destruction was achieved.
- Blew all HASs except those in our immediate area. There were
approximately 18 HASs on Base. We also destroyed five of the eleven ASPs, and
two areas with aircraft fuel tanks.
(U) - More HB876s were found and destroyed.
- Six ASPs had partially been destroyed by Army Engineers.
There were numerous kick-outs. (see photos 8-15)
- That night we attempted to stop an Army convoy from driving
through a bomblet field. We could not get through, M42 bomblets were
everywhere. We attempted to get to a vehicle with no luck, it was too late.

unknown.
- Five suspected hostile individuals in native garb came upon
us. Armed EOD troops waved them on. One of them got out of
took a couple of steps toward as. Finally, with a number of EOD weapons aimed
at him, he got the message and departed the area.
