         		 - An EOD Team member acts as CCT and lands CH-47. CCT
personnel had already departed the base. Part of Alpha team, (EOD
personnel that went to Talil An, Iraq), arrived for extraction. While waiting
for their airlift they helped us unload a truckload of mines into the last
HAS to be destroyed. This HAS had provided us shelter for a number of days.

    	(U) - We saw several US Army columns of tanks and support vehicles
driving both to the west and then to the east. Were they lost?

    	      - C-130 air traffic to the base was finished. EOD could now
set off shots at will. EOD and Red Horse personnel are working hard to
finish demolition. Runway is destroyed and only five HAS remain in the
immediate area. These will be destroyed 10 Mar 91.
(See photo 16 for how runway was blown).

    (U) 10 Mar 91

    	- There is no security on base. Teams load gear and prime final
shots. All six shots detonate, but one HAS only partially detonates, burns
for about five minutes, then detonates leveling it.

    	 - CH-47 lands with Red Horse personnel checking the runway.
They were pleased with the destruction of the base. we were told our
    CH-47 was in route.

    	(U) 1000- Our CH-47 lands, and the team on loads. Team departs base.

  	 (U) 1240 Arrive KKMC, two EOD Technicians are dropped off with their
    HM~V vehicle.

   	 (U) - Team repairs fifth flat tire. Two rear tires were blown when
the vehicle encountered an M42 bomblet, and three tires were slashed by razor
    sharp frag/shrapnel.

    	(U) - Team awaits their Blazer to return from KKMC range operation.

    (U) 2005 - Team departs KKMC.

    (U) 0130 - Team arrived home.

                          			(U) OTHER REMARKS

  	  - Three of eleven ASPs were harmed with earth for extra
protection. A number of hard bombs were completely covered with dirt

    	- The two blue band chemical information was probably incorrect
because we found two blue band HE-bombs.

   	 - Army Corp of Engineers destroyed numerous quantities of items
with intelligent value and do not work as safe and efficiently as we do:
They dropped pallets of mines approximately 8 ft. twice, ard their Det Cord
    ring main, needed attention.

   	 - Personnel bunkers were fabricated from Earth. Trenches were
dug in the group, surrounded by sandbags with wood for overhead protection.
There were bunks inside, and personal items indicating these billets were used
for a long time. Many bundlers contained humus feces, indicating fear of
    leaving the bunker.
