MEMORANDUM FOR RECORD 29 OCT 90
SUBJECT: Team 4 Daily Report
1. Today's activities included reserving a Saudi auditorium fo
ARCENT G-3, Attempting to track down a shipment of language
material, and attempting to locate a possible site for the base
PX.
2. I went to see LTC Saud al-Jaaid. Saudi Air Force Training Wing
Commander about reservation of a theater which was requested by
ARCENT G-3. This theater is to be used 7 November, 0800-1600, for
the conduct of a USR workshop with about 110 people. LTC Saud was
not in. I requested the use of and received permission to use the
King Faisal Auditorium, Bldg. 456, adjacent to Gate 5 for the
workshop. The'reservation was made by LT Hussein al-Hussein. I
also brought MAJ Reiland from the G-3 to the auditorium and went
inside to check It out. Everything seemed to meet with his
anproval. The auditorium will be opened on the day in question
and no keys were obtained.
3. I attempted to track down about 590 lbs. of Headstart language
material which was to be given to Saudi Chief LNO COL Khaijaf. I
took over this mission from CPT Todd. I spoke with SSG Thurman of
G-6 initially. Evidently the shipment was addressed to him. He
told me it was being held at 593rd ASG supply. I drove out to the
Expo Center and checked both their supply and the warehouse of the
22nd Supply Company. Niether had heard of the shipment before. I
then went back and spoke to SSG Thurman again. He told me he had
been Informed of the shipment was but to check at the Break Bulk
Point (BPP) at Ghost City, or at warehouse IS at Dammam port where
theater reserves are stored. I checked the BFP and there was no
sign of the shipment. I then went to the port and checked
warehouses 14-20. There was no sign of the shipment in any of the
warehouses. Virtually all of them are being used to billet
personnel. I also spoke with transportation personnel at the
warehouses who had no idea where the shipment was. Finally, I
went back to SSG Thurman and asked him if he received any more
information, to notify me.
4. I spoke to MAJ Sargianis, Corps Engineers, who is working as a
liaison at ARCENT Engineers, about his request for support
concerning the establishment of electricity at a compound occupied
by 12th Aviation Brigade in An Nu'Ayriyah. He was directed by MAJ
Cheek to the LOC where he completed a formal request. I have no
further update on this.
5. 1 have no further update on the survey control points
requested by XVIII Airborne Corps Artillery. This request has
been passed to COL KhaLlaf'and we have received no further
information.
6. 1 took over a mission from CPT Henry concerning the location
of a building which will be used to hold the PX. Niether CPT
Henry or myself know the whereabouts of the building. CPT Ameer,
