           -I.(U) SITUATION:
                 a.(U)   Enem'y Forces.  Enemy forces have the     capability   to
                                                    biological agents, and ridt
                         employ  chemical agents,

                         and large area smoke capability. See Basic OPLAN,

            2@      Mission. The 82d Airborne Division will defend against
                    Iraqi use of Chemicat/Biological@CB) weapons and be
                 .@@preparL-d to conduct combat operations in a CB environment,
                  ,-conduct NBC reconnaissance, del:oiitamination, and smoke
                    operations as necessary.

           3.(U)    Execution

                a.(U) Concept    of Operation.

                         (I      NBC Reconnaissance oderations.will provide the
                                 Division with an accurate picture of NBC.
                                 contamination within the area of operations.
                                 Priorities, in order, are supporting movement
                                 of armor and artillery, maintaining freedom of
                                 movement on MSRS. and location of "clean" unit
                                 assembly areas.

                         (2      Decontamination operations will gmphasi2e rapid

                                 possible. Divisional units wi-il accept-rist@ by
                                 maintaining minifti.   MOPP levels (due to heat),
                                 by relying on h,-@ty decontamination and
                                 'weathering when Possible, and by conducting
                                 deliberate decontamination operations in a
                                 manner that minimizes water consumption, time
                                 in MOPP 4, and clc-coii labor requirements.
                                 Priorities, in order. are maneuver units in
                                 contact, artillery, aviation, command and
                         %       control, and divi-;iori logistics support force-.

                                 and support deceritio-, operations.     Priority of
