SUBJECT: VII Corps MSC SITREP Issues (U)

                  (3) (@ Class III (package). Some impact as Class IX
shortages. Received minimal levels of Class III packages but not
even sufficient amounts to keep up with daily usage. (G4)

                  (4) Medical. Class VIII supplies now adequate.
However, Division is short three orthopedic surgeons in two
HASHS. Must have more surgical support prior to commencement of
         G-Day operations. (Gl)

                  (5) M43 Protective masks. Division received 22
masks 2 FEB. Division could operate safely and employ weapon
systems effectively with one each M43 per Apache (back seat pilot
only). Request assistance in obtaining the 14 additional M43
         masks ASAP. (G4, Corps Chem)

             C. 1ID(M). Tier draw of class V continues to go
slowly. 34 DODICS remain to be filled. Critical ammunition is
.50 caliber and 25mm ammunition. 800 MMC is aware of our
requirements, which we report daily via LOGSTAR. with the closure
of Log Base Alpha on 9 FEB 91, we will be forced to deploy to the
FAA with less than TIER II. (G4)

             D. (U) 1CD.

                  (1) @ MLRS employed by the division require the

                  (3) The division has an LNO with the Egyptian 70th
AR BN vic Ruqi. The Egyptians still have not provided an LNO.
lst Cav Div is concerned with gaps on our eastern flank. The NAC
defense at Ruqi is set, however, the nearest Egyptian MBA
  (G3)

                  (4) Record communications with Corps is
unsatisfactory. E-Mail is a time consuming and unreliable method
of record communications due to poor carrier signal. circuit
down-time severely hinders E-Mail accessibility for long periods.
Poor quality lines (noise from interface) breaks computer
communication. Recommend new frequencies be issued to ensure
clearer carrier signal. Also recommend increase use of UGC-144
communications Terminal network to back up the E-Mail. (G6)

                  (5) (8) Ammunition is becoming more critical as G-Day
draws closer. Critical ammunition below projected requirements
